What is Podiatry?
Podiatry, or podiatrists are practitioners that examine, treat and assess conditions of your foot and ankle such as bunions or heel pain. We also help with the lower limb including knee and hip pain.
In our practice, we endeavour to work with our patients to ensure they continue moving pain free and with optimal foot health. Whether you’re an infant, teenager, pregnant mum or a senior, our services are tailored to your specific needs.
Our two podiatrists, Kaisarah and Sharon pride themselves on excellence in their range of services to assist and treat your healthcare requirements. They are determined to go above and beyond and provide the best possible quality-of-care they can to all their patients.
In our practice, we provide general care for all walks-of-life. This can include, but is not limited to- providing aged care, ongoing routine foot assessments, diabetic foot monitoring, pain and injury management, verrucas, ingrown toenail surgery, medical pedicures and orthotics.
You do not need a referral to see us, just book directly! Furthermore, we are Southern Cross and ACC credited for your convenience.
Meet our podiatrists
Kaisarah Babwani BHSc (Pod.), Podiatrist
Born in Mumbai, Kai came to New Zealand as a toddler. She speaks three languages and her name is named after the famous song- Que Sera Sera by Doris Day!
Her interest in podiatry sparked when she would volunteer at a retirement village in high school and since then- has been determined to make a positive difference in peoples’ life one foot at a time.
Kai specialises in general foot care, ingrown toenail surgeries and orthotics to ensure you keep moving and active . She chose to practice with the Jones’ alongside acupuncture and chiropractic to provide the best outcome for her patients for all walks-of-life.
She strongly believes that we should always treat our feet right. They’re the workhouses of our bodies but we give them so little respect.
Sharon Hipkiss BHSc (Pod.), Podiatrist
Sharon has been in healthcare for the past 20 years after having started the journey as a theatre-trained nurse in South Africa before training as a podiatrist.
Her interest in podiatry developed from watching numerous patients struggle to recover post-surgery due to foot related issues. She is passionate about getting people moving and enjoying all that life has to offer and that’s what we love most about her!
Sharon has a particular interest in general foot care, verruca treatments and ingrown toenail surgeries.
Her motto for her patients is always-

Common Podiatry Questions
Do I need a referral to see a podiatrist? No. Just book directly through us
Are you ACC covered? Yes. We are ACC credited. ACC covers most of your treatment costs, however you may have a small surcharge fee.
Are you a Southern Cross provider? Yes. Depending on your plan, we can do easy-claim from our end!
Do you do pedicures with nail fungus? Yes! We provide a medical pedicure where we also treat conditions such as ingrown toenails, cracked heels, corns, calluses and more.
Do you treat kids? Yes, we specialise in pediatrics as well. This includes foot pain, injuries nail and skin conditions and more!
Do you treat heel pain? Yes. We have a range of different treatment options tailored for you to help with your heel pain. This can include orthotics, strapping, dry needling, footwear, etc
Do you prescribe footwear? Yes! We can prescribe exactly what foot model you need, support level, and features all whilst recommending where to get your footwear from
Do I see a podiatrist or a physiotherapist? Anyone with a lower limb concern, whether it is fairly new or ongoing, should see a podiatrist. We also treat skin and nail conditions alongside pain and injury management.
What are orthotics? Do they help with flat feet and high arches? Or should I buy one over-the counter? Over the counter insoles can provide some relief, but orthotics are medical grade devices tailored to your foot type, symptoms and condition to alleviate, offload and prevent the reoccurance of pain.
Do you still treat infected ingrown toenails? Ingrown toenails, infected or not, are our speciality! Whether you require surgery or just conservative care, we can treat the infection by removing the foreign body (i.e. nail) causing it in the first place.
I'm concerned with how my child walks. Do you help with that? Yes, we do. We conduct a comprehensive gait analysis for all walks-of-life including toddlers and children.
Do you have free parking? Yes, we do! Free parking along Victoria Ave is available and patient parking is also available above ANZ on Remuera Road. You can access the rooftop parking through Victoria Ave.
Can you refer me for an x-ray? We sure can! We can refer you to all avalible imaging modalities as well as Labtests depending on your symptoms.
What do I need for an appointment? If you are coming in for pain and injury management, or a biomechanical consult, please bring shoes that you wear on a regular basis and sports footwear. Pants that roll up will also be helpful!
Do you work late nights? We sure do! We operate from 7:30am to 7pm.
How long are your appointments? New patients are approximately 45 minutes, follow-up appointments are 30 minutes and an ingrown and verruca surgery can take up to 1 hr.
Can I claim Podiatry with another insurance provider? Yes, we are recognised health practitioners! We can email or print you a full invoice for your convenience to claim with your insurance provider.
Do you provide Gold Card discounts? Yes! 10% discounts apply to all our Gold Card Holders.
Do I need a consultation before treatment? No. Just book directly with us, and your treatment will be provided in your initial consultation.
